I always have people caling me this time of year asking about purchasing a new computer for the holidays. This year is different than most. I was thinking about it this morning. About five months ago I purchased a state of the art P3 550 system. The darn thing cost me close to 5k once all was said and done! The same system now is advertised for between 1500 and 2000. That's not news to any of you, but there is something different this time. The beefier systems are not coming in strongly on top! In other words, the 550s are not cheap now because everyone is pushing there 600s and 700 series! They are out there, but you don't see them advertised much. As a result, now is a great time to purchase a 500 or 550 system. You can buy one at a great price, with all the bells and whistles and not feel like you are missing the next best thing. I don't see people jumping on the bandwagon of the speedier systems yet. I think folks are just tired of the upgrade game. I know *I* am!
