Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too Animated Storybook

Kids everywhere love Winnie the Pooh. This new animated storybook will be a hit with the preschoolers in your house. Toddlers will enjoy this story as well, but will need mom or dad's help.

Winnie the Pooh and his friends have had enough of Tiggers' bouncing. They set about to get him lost in the woods. They decide that they will 'scare the bounce out of him.' Their plan does not work out as they envisioned it, but lots of excitement is found along the way.

This program plays like most other animated storybooks. Your child can select a page that is his or her 'favorite,' or can listen to the story from beginning to end. The words are read aloud, and highlighted as phrases. I was disappointed to find that a child can not click on a single word and hear what that word is. This would have gone a long way in making this a 'learning to read' program. As it stands, it is fun, but your child will have to memorize the story in order to get much reading instruction here. It is more of an exposure program. screen shot

As with most animated storybooks, your children will find activities and hot spots throughout. There are four activities found within this storybook:

Rabbit's Garden Game: Help rabbit harvest his garden by playing this concentration game. There are three skill levels available.

Roo's Tic Tac Toe Game: Three skill levels are also available here. Roo is very cute in this game.

Pooh's Maze: The most challenging game in the program. The beginning skill level find your child simply guiding Pooh through a maze in order to help Tigger out of a tree. At level two and three, Pooh must collect tools along the way which he will need to complete the maze. We found it very difficult to move through the maze using just the mouse. It would have been nice to be able to use the arrow keys.

Tigger's Bouncing Game: This patterning activity is great for preschoolers. Three levels have your child repeating the pattern of bouncing characters.

While there is nothing terribly innovative about this program, it is cute. Kids who like Pooh will enjoy interacting with their favorite characters.
