Sabrina the Teenage Witch: Brat Attack
Copyright: KBkids.com
Fans of the television show "Sabrina the Teenage Witch" will be excited to spend some more time with their favorite witch. This program sports the voice of Melissa Joan Hart herself. Kids who like Sabrina will enjoy this program. Those who are not familiar with the program may not care enough to wade through the slow pace at first.
Sabrina's mischievous cat Salem has stolen the Beanie (as in hat) of Ultimate Power. This sets off all sorts of problems, involving Sabrina's bratty cousin Amanda. Sabrina needs to find Salem and return the hat if she wants to retain her powers. In order to do this, she must find four items that make up the Anti-Brat Pack.
In the Real World, Sabrina explores the house and her school. In each room, you will find items floating in mid-air that she will need to make spells. Her Labtop keeps all of the items until you actually mix the spells. Most of the spells give Sabrina extra powers to zap her enemies, become invisible, or other handy powers to get her through the game. There are many locked doors as well, that will need to be opened.
The Other Realm includes decidedly 'witch oriented' spots, including a mall fit for any witch or warlock. You can jump between the two worlds only at certain spots, meaning there is some annoying backtracking at times.
It seemed that there was an inordinate amount of time just walking around collecting needed items. One eleven-year-old tester stuck with it for an hour or so and then moved on to another program. Granted, this particular child was not familiar with the television show. Although not unheard of in role-playing type games, the control combination of keyboard arrows and mouse clicks may seem awkward to some, and were an annoyance to testers.
Fans of this show tend to be very loyal. If you have one in your house, there is little doubt they will enjoy the Sabrina theme. This will most likely not go down as their favorite program of all times, however.
Bottom Line: A good choice for Sabrina fans, but not an outstanding program. Fun for those who really like the television show.
