Rugrat's Mystery Adventure

Copyright: KBkids.com

While not the best Rugrats program on the market, this is a good game for the Rugrats fan at your house. Testers found they preferred Rugrats Adventure Game over this one.

Tommy Pickles, Private Defective, is on the case. Things are happening at the Pickle's house. Pacifiers are missing, Sand is found in Tommy's sippy cup, and Angelica's Cynthia doll is missing. There are quite a few mysteries to solve, but the gameplay throughout does not vary much.

The babies must go to the park with Tommy's mom, or visit "Home Heaven" (the local home improvement store), and search for clues. In each place they visit, there are three arcade-style games. When your child wins a game, he will earn a Reptar Bar, which can be used to bribe suspects into talking.

Turtle Recall: Help clear a path through the pond so that the baby turtle can return to its mother.

Just Ducky: Help Chucky lead the lost ducks back home before Spike scares them to death.

Worm-A-Licious: Phil and Lil must fill their pockets with those tasty worms they love to eat.

Shake It Up Babies: Phil and Lil ride the paint-mixing machine while trying to catch flying balls.

Baby Shower: Baby Dill is playing with the sprinkler and getting his friends quite wet.

Dummi Bear Express: Tommy must jump to catch as many yellow stars as possible.

The main problem testers found with this program was the interface. It took a parents intervention (and a lot of head scratching) to get this one to work. The mouse works throughout most of the program, but once you enter the park or home store you must switch to the arrows, or a joystick. Games become progressively harder, but there isn't enough variety.

Bottom Line: A good choice for Rugrats fans, but lacking some of the replay value found in other Rugrats programs.
