Winnie the Pooh Preschool

Winnie the Pooh Kindergarten, and Winnie the Pooh Toddler did not fare well, in my opinion. Links to these two reviews will be uploaded within a week. They are mediocre programs at best. Winnie the Pooh Preschool is the best of the three new releases. You will still do better with Ready for School Preschool, or Reader Rabbit's Preschool, however. True Winnie the Pooh fanatics will still enjoy this program.Box shot

Pooh thinks that he has forgotten Eeyore's birthday. It is, ofcourse, not his birthday, and Pooh sets off on a bumbling attempt to prepare for a surprise party. He must notify each of his Hundred Acre Wood friends. At each house, your child is asked to help with a job which must be done before the party can start.

Piglet: Piglet is painting pictures, and needs your child's help. One of the pictures will be used at the birthday party. This is NOT a creativity activity. Your child must paint the picture exactly as the original. Three skill levels provide more detailed pictures. At level three, your child must also mix colors. Once the picture is done, objects can be placed on the picture to decorate it. These objects were silly, to say the least. Most preschoolers will not want to slap pieces of square colored paper, or macaroni in the middle of their picture.

Owl: Owl is doing his geneology, and needs help sorting the last six pages. Your child must match the owl pictures with the ones on the page. At level one, the difference are obvious. By level three, however, difference are subtle, and there are left over pictures.

Tigger: Tigger's musical instrument is missing a piece. Your child will listen to the sound on the blueprint, and find the right sound to place in his sound box. At level there, there are three sounds missing on each screen. This will take some concentration on your child's part.

Kanga and Roo: These two are busy making alphabet soup. Level one finds your child simply locating missing alphabet noodles from the alphabet. At level three, they must match upper and lower case letters which are found on vegetables starting with each missing letter.

Rabbit's House: Rabbit is preparing his winter supply of food. He needs your child's help labeling canning jars. At level one, they will simply match the number on the label with the number Rabbit has written on the jar. One jar may, for example, contain three beans, or two apples. At level three, Rabbit will ask your child to place the correct number of items in the jar, and then label the jar independently.

Each of the Winnie the Pooh programs include printable activities. These include coloring pages, workbooks pages, stickers and more.

Winnie the Pooh Preschool is not as thorough as other preschool packages. Children who are not ready for more 'meaty' programs, and major Pooh fans are the best audiences for this program. Of the three new Winnie the Pooh programs, this one is the best. It still lacks creativity and enough material to aquire a higher score.
