Piano Suite
Adventus Software

It has been several years since any new piano tutorials have hit the market. This new program from Adventus Software is a very good option for new piano students, and those ready to progress at their own speed. There are times when the financial and time contstraints on families make it impossible to squeeze in piano lessons.

While the educational games, and layout will appeal to children and teens, this is a full-featured program that will work for more accomplished musicians, or those wanting to brush up an unused talent. You will find theory games such as "Senor Semitone's Grand Staff Battle Game," and theory concentration that play much like today's video games. The Battle Game even includes 'bad guys' to watch out for.

Various learning methods, notation sizes, and progress reports make this a great program for students of any ability. The theory lessons cover two years of music theory, which is almost impossible to find in public schools these days.

With over 400 musical pieces included, your student's will not get bored. While you will find the traditional classical pieces, there are also fun pieces from Elviz Presley, Whitney Houston, Bryan Adams, Cheap Trick, Boys II Men and many more. This program will appeal to the student who claims classical music is boring. It isn't, but that's another article!

I was pleased to see that Piano Suite includes a full-featured composer and editor. This is something my older son can use in his more advanced music studies. This is a wonderful way to students to play with the process of creating music, something often overlooked in lessons.

You will also find an in-depth study of music history and the biographies of famous composers. This is truly a piano tutorial for today's students.

All in all this is a great piano tutorial and one I can definately recommend.
