Have your kids been bugging you for games like Quake, Rainbow Six, and more, but you have cringed at the gore content? Nerf Arena Blast is a fantastic first person shooter that contains all the super charged gameplay found in the best shooters on the market, with none of the gore. Novices and experienced gamers alike will love this game.

Six different arenas give a wide range of game variations. In the Sequoia Arena you will be running in between trees, and jumping rivers. The Orbital Arena orbits high above earth where you can experience zero-gravity. Each of the arenas are extremely well done, and very original. In each of these arenas you will find three different games, Pointblast, Speedblast and Ballblast. You can earn a total of ten nerf weapons, modeled after their real life counterparts (Ballzooka, Might Mo, Triple Strike etc.) You will also need to find ammo as you work your way through each arena.

Each arena is a 3D obstacle course, where you will find other Nerf players. Internet play is great, but you can play alone as well. Novices will find a wonderful training mode that teaches you everything you need to know about the three game versions.

Pointblast: Fairly standard shooting here. Gain points by shooting the 'best players,' or the 'most valuable targets.'

Speedblast: Run through the obstacle course as fast as possible, capturing seven flags before your opponents.

Ballblast: Enter a room filled with colored balls. Each player tries to pick up the balls and shoot them through a target before progressing. The race for the balls can be furious!

Nerf Arena Blast is a wonderful choice for people who are not opposed to the shooting aspect, but want to avoid any gore. It is also a great choice for anyone wanting to experience some unique new twists. Testers only complaint was that it ran painfully slow at the minimum requirements.

Bottom Line: A surprisingly fun first-person shooter. A terrific choice if you want to avoid the gore, but also for experienced, hard-core gamers.
