If you are a fan of the Need for Speed series, you will defiantly want to check this one out. With its spectacular scenery, and unique 'one car series' focus, you will enjoy the new upgrades. As far as the series is concerned, it is a solid upgrade.

Unlike previous titles, this one focuses on just one car, the Porsche. You can view a presentation on the history of the Porsche, which tends to be a bit too much flash, and not enough information, but still cool. There are several new play modes found here that take advantage of the one car theme.

New Porsche Modes:

Factory Driver: This new mode is great. You are a new driver in the Porsche factory. They won't give you the really 'cool' cars to test drive, however, until you have proven yourself. Through a series of cone course, and assignments, you can move your way up the ranks.

Porsche Evolution: Here you will start with the oldest Porsches, and move your way up to the newest models. This is a great way to study the cars' history. Remember, those older cars didn't exactly burn rubber, however.

The graphics have been substantially enhanced. As you travel around the countryside you will see spectacular shots of oceans, villages and more. New camera movements also simulate the way your head would move if you were driving the cars! Although there is a lot here, novices found the racing fairly easy. This is a good choice for those who have a hard time making the car stay on the road! Pro gamers will not want to start in beginner mode, or they will find this game lacking something...speed, ironically.

This is a solid choice for racing fans, and fans of the Need for Speed series in particular. This is not a '10' in the racing category, but a solid addition to the series.

Bottom Line: A decent upgrade to a good series. The one car theme may not suit everyone's taste, but Porsche fans will be in heaven.
