Hot on the heels of the ultra-popular MechWarrior2, and it's many expansions, comes MW3. Who would have thought such a great series could become even better? This is futuristic war at it's finest, and it's a must-have masterpiece everyone should experience.

In the world of MW3, you must learn to pilot huge "Mechs", the giant walking war-machines of the future. The concept has not changed much from the last version, but new features such as, weapons, and options mean newfound fun for MW veterans.

Game features include:

The thing that really makes MW3 come alive is it's surreal graphics and soundE. The exceptionally well-designed graphics make you feel as if you're really in the middle of a war. The moody, ambient music keeps the tension high, and the sound effects are second-to-none.

What gamers will appreciate most are the Blow system requirements, and high-end graphics. Testers saw little difference moving from a 200MMX machine (with a high end graphics accelerator) to a very high end PIII 550.

As far as violent content goes, MW3 has Bplenty of guns, destruction, and amazing explosions. You also have the ability to step on people, further emphasizing the enormous size of your Mech. People seemingly 'explode' (rather than being 'squished') as you step on them, body parts flying across the battlefield. Is this gore really necessary?

The only bad points of this game are the strange AI (artificial intelligence) quirks, and the somewhat steep difficulty of the missions. But by all means, the good features FAR outweigh the bad in this gem of a game. A must-have for MW veterans and rookies alike. a

Bottom Line: A superb futuristic war game program. Borders between teen and mature rating due to some gratuitous violence.
