Those with higher-end computers will be very pleased with the visual quality of this program. Disney spared little in the cinematography. Testers were left wishing they had put as much effort into the game interface.

Jiminy Cricket has made a mess of four different Disney stories, leaving the villains in control. It is up to your child to set thing right in each of these tales. Several skill levels are automatically adjusted, but the game play remains basically the same. There is little or no onscreen help throughout.

Snow White: Here Snow White must be saved, by creating a magic spell. The spell book tells your child what ingredients must be combined. This often takes an intermediate step, as some ingredient bottles are empty, and must be created first.

Peter Pan: If your kids like sword fights, they will enjoy taking on Captain Hook. Your mouse cursor becomes a sword, as you try to knock him out of the crow's nest. This was a lot of fun, but there is little variety. You do have to whack a few pirates off of the netting, but little else happens. No blood and gore here, but some violence.

Dumbo: This activity involves setting up an intricate chain reaction, which will save Dumbo from two nasty clowns. You must adjust cannons, place animals and clowns, and experiment with various circus items. There is some learning here, but younger game players felt rather lost, and left this activity before conquering it.

Alice In Wonderland: Decent speakers are best here. Alice's body is in one area of a garden maze, and her head is in another. Your child must listen very carefully to Alice's voice and find here. Good listening practice here, but game dragged on.

At one point you must also release Jiminy from a prickly maze of twigs. This one takes some patience and thinking.

Your kids will enjoy these games, but considering the stunning video, the games just don't reach their potential.

Bottom Line: A visually stunning program, which lacks enough onscreen help. Game play is lacking variety and depth.
