Disney's
Mickey Preschool

technology which determines your child's abilities. I was impressed that this was so seemlessly included. It is hard to tell when the program is making things easier or harder.
On the otherhand, it was not easy to adjust the levels manually as I like to see. There was not a lot of "teaching" either, just lots of reinforcement. For that reason, this is not a good choice if your preschoolers is in need of serious remediation.
Mickey and Minnie stop in at the local gas station while on their cross-country road trip. While Mickey lounges, reading the paper, Minnie visits with Minnie in the diner and eats ice cream (a bit stereotypical if you are quite picky about that sort of thing, but won't be a concern to most.) Your child can click on many things in the garage to access fun activities:

Tune-Up Time
This activity had the least replay around our house. By clicking on everything
from a pile of hubcaps, to oil drums, and a wrench (neatly arranged in
scale) music can be made. The result is more rhythmic 'noise' than music,
but kids will like it. There just was not enough to keep kids glued here.
Goofy's Body Shop
Create a car of your own creation by choosing a combination of three body
parts and then painting them. Kids loved the fact that the colors were
not boring. Of particular interest here was the candy cane motif. Not
much in the educational department, but kids liked it.
Knock the Can
A fairly educational activity involving shooting a water hose at pre-determined
shapes etc. At the simplest level kids must shoot colored shapes, letters
and numbers.
Gas Pumps
Help pump gas for customers in this fun station. Here the gas is colorful.
Your child can combined colors to create new colored gas. Each customer
asks for a specific type of gas and number of gallons. Your preschooler
must help create and pump the gas.
Huey, Dewey and Louie's
Opposites Car
Preschoolers love to play with knobs and dials...esspecially ones they
aren't suppose to play with! Here they can play with the car dials to
their heart's content. Just make sure they know this is make-believe!
The dials teach them skills such as opposites, cause and effect, left
and right, and counting to 100.
Daisy's Diner
This is the only activity that smacks of 'school.' The rest are, for the
most part, discovery based. As they wait for their meal, preschoolers
can work on the menu workbook provided. There are lots of pages here covering
skills such as patterns, phonics, logic, vocabulary, number and letter
recognition and more. The pages can also be printed.
While not an extremely thorough preschool program, this one will appeal to Mickey Mouse fans, and those who want a rather low key preschool experience.
