Clifford Music Memory Games

Clifford was a big hit when I was a young child....and no, I won't tell you how long ago that was! He has made a comeback, due to the popular PBS television show in recent years. Clifford's Music Memory Games is a great program for kids who may be struggling with short term memory skills. Remembering a sequence of items is a vital skill for both math and reading success. While not specifically a special ed program, this would be a great program for kids who are truly struggling with these skills. While yes, it is a music program, the emphasis is more on sequence memory than on music theory.
Help Clifford and his friends as they travel throughout Birdville looking for music to make the citizens happy again. It seems their local radio station is not functioning, and they are trying to bring music back to people's lives. As they travel, they will also find odds and ends that can be made into homemade instruments for your child to play.
Most of the program consists of remembering sequences of notes that are played. A bird choir teaches your child each song note by note. Your child will play each note back in sequence on the 'keybone.' This is a small xylophone shaped like a dog bone.
The sequencing games got a bit old for my taste, but the concept is a solid one and needed by some kids. Most advanced kids in the 4-6 age bracket will probably want a bit more. If you do have a child who is struggling, however, this is a great way to reinforce a skill that is often quite dry.
