CatDog: Quest for the Golden Hydrant

If you have never watched Nickelodeon's Cat Dog cartoon, it is highly recommended that you do before purchasing this program. While Cat Dog is an extremely popular cartoon, it is not for all families.

Object of the game: Help Cat Dog redeem a coupon in order to get a map to the Golden Hydrant. They must first find the coupon they have foolishly lost.

Cat Dog can be played in two modes, Adventure mode, or Arcade mode. The game consists primarily of six arcade games. In Adventure mode, the story of the lost coupon, and the search for the hydrant are woven into the arcade game play. In Arcade mode you can simply access your favorite games. Each game has ten skill levels, more than most programs.

Greaser's The Word: Help Cat Dog get the coupon back by jumping around the junkyard, avoiding the Greaser characters.

Iced, Thawed, and Delivered: Cat Dog must get the coupon to the North Pole in order to get the treasure map.

Climb Ev'ry Cat Dog: Here, in a feat of coordination you must get Cat Dog to the top of the mountain. This is not always easy in that Cat Dog has two heads and two sets of arms.

Space Madness: Help repair the space ship before your air runs out. This involves shooting candy pieces at the 'bad guys.'

Taco Trouble: Deliver the most taco orders. Tackle other employees before they tackle you.

Queen of Denial: Search in these Egyptian catacombs for the Golden Hydrant. Watch out for nasty mummies.

The games are typical of other arcade programs, and nothing really innovative. Watch out for obstacles, and get the most points. If your kids really enjoy arcade action, or Cat Dog, they will like the many levels available.

Bottom Line: An fairly good collection of arcade games with many levels. The Cat Dog theme may not be for everyone.
