Due to the material included on this CD, and the graphical nature of the material, this is not a CD you want to purchase and set your kids free on. Before viewing the material on this program, you as a parent will be required to create a password and select he material you will allow your child to see. This safeguard allows you to screen out any material you would find objectionable.

Because this is such a volatile topic, and every family has it's own belief system, I would highly recommend you view this material with your child. Although I can point out objections I may have, they will be different from those you may have.

This program includes great slide presentations and 38 minutes of video from the ABC documentary, "Journey Into Life: World of the Universe." The video clips, audio clips and other peripheral material is included throughout the program. You can also access all of the video clips, or animations separately from the main toolbar.

Life Begins does not delve into contraceptive choices, nor does it touch on abortion or life style decisions. While it does not blast you with a 'wait until marriage' message, the idea is presented in several places. There may be not enough of this for some families. There is a very interesting section on values, and on removing yourself from toxic relationships of all kinds. The section on how to deal with peer pressure, and how to get yourself out of sexual situations is great. There are also some rather graphical pictures of sexually transmitted diseases, which will make anyone think twice!

If you are looking for a way to present this material to your children, this program will be a great boon. The video clips are wonderful, and the information thorough. It may be too much, and too dry for very young children. This is a pre-teen, teenager program.

Your family can combine this program with whatever value discussions you would like to have, and have a great way to approach a topic which is often difficult to broach. The values section especially gives you as a parent the chance to discuss values, and decisions you would like your children to make.
